Disciplinary cases

With extensive experience in the industrial and unionised labour relations environment we have handled a wide variety of disciplinary matters at all levels in the organisation. Our activities have included;
•    Designing and implementing disciplinary and incapacity procedures for a number of organisations
•    Chairing disciplinary and grievance enquiries
•    Facilitating dispute resolution processes
•    Providing guidance and advice on Labour legislation and disciplinary processes to management and individuals
•    Providing training to management and supervisors responsible for handling disciplinary matters

Outsourcing and retrenchment processes (Section 197 and 189)

The South African Labour legislation concerning the issues of retrenchment and outsourcing is complex and many organisations have stumbled over the maze of procedural and substantive issues to be dealt with. We have assisted many organisations to negotiate these difficult waters to ensure a smooth, cost effective and dispute free transition with as little negative impact on staff as possible.

Competency profiling

The beginning point for turning an organisation into a high performance business is a set of clear and well-defined targets, measures and outputs. Your best chance of reaching these goals is when everyone has a clear picture of what they are trying to achieve and what each one’s role is in getting there.
We work with leaders and teams to develop clear profiles of the outputs (results) and inputs (skills, knowledge and behaviours) for every division, department, job/role within the organisation, to define the KPIs for each output and to establish measures that will enable us to know whether the outputs required are being achieved. When we break this down to a job level we call this a “Competency Profile”. This becomes a tool for Performance Management, for Training needs analysis, for Succession Planning, for Career Management and for Recruitment and Selection.
